Mr. Fitzpatrick focuses on litigation, including commercial litigation, construction law, insurance coverage, and insurance defense. He has successfully represented clients on a broad range of matters including personal injury, breach of contract, property damage, automobile, construction, professional liability, officer and director liability, trusts and estates litigation, insurance coverage, and insurance defense matters.
In 2008, Mr. Fitzpatrick successfully represented a Montana heating and cooling company against allegations of carbon monoxide poisoning by 20 individual plaintiffs. Beginning in 2010, he has represented numerous contractors against construction defect claims including claims of improper construction and foundation design.
Steve Fitzpatrick was born and raised in Montana. He is a 2001 graduate of Montana State University and a 2004 graduate of the Arizona State University College of Law. Mr. Fitzpatrick worked as a law clerk for Judge Thomas Honzel at the Montana First Judicial District Court in Helena, Montana. He later moved to Great Falls where he worked in private practice with an emphasis on insurance defense, construction law, and insurance coverage litigation. Mr. Fitzpatrick joined BKBH In 2015 and works in the firm’s Great Falls office.
Mr. Fitzpatrick is a member of the Montana House of Representatives. He has served as the primary sponsor or carrier for over 20 pieces of legislation which have become law. He has been a member of the Taxation, Business and Labor, Natural Resources, Local Government, Agriculture, Human Services, and Rules committees. He and his wife have three daughters.
