Michael Trosper

Michael’s practice is focused on criminal law, Indian law, insurance defense, family law, and landlord-tenant law.

Prior to joining BKBH, Michael spent four years as a trial attorney for the Montana Office of the State Public Defender where he fought to uphold the rights of countless indigent Montanans facing criminal charges.  In his private practice, Michael seeks to help his clients avoid escalation and costly litigation. However, his unique experience as a trial lawyer ensures that, if necessary, he can successfully advocate for his clients’ interests should a matter go to trial.

Michael was raised in Ronan, Montana on the Flathead Indian Reservation. He is a first-generation descendant of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Montana State University, he earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Montana School of Law.

Michael and his wife, Samantha, have two dogs. They enjoy Montana’s many outdoor offerings and traveling to new locations at home and abroad.
