Noah Gipson

Noah Gipson is a civil litigator whose practice focuses on insurance defense, private party litigation, and estate and trust matters. Raised in southwest Wyoming with a ranching background, Noah has a grounded and practical understanding of the legal issues that affect rural communities, particularly those involving land use, water access, and natural resources. This background shaped his interest in the law at an early age and continues to influence the thoughtful and accessible way he serves clients today.

Noah’s interest in becoming an attorney began when he sat in on a call about oil and gas lease terms during his childhood. What others found dull, he found fascinating, and the experience sparked a long-term appreciation for the role lawyers play in helping people understand complex rights and obligations. As he grew older, he became increasingly aware of the legal challenges surrounding grazing leases, water access, and resource allocation in rural areas. These experiences inspired him to pursue a legal career that supports individuals, landowners, and communities facing similar issues.

While earning his J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law, Noah completed a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law and served as a clerk for the Chief Water Judge through his law school’s clinic program. His work exposed him to significant water policy issues in Montana and highlighted the real human stakes behind resource-related disputes. He saw firsthand how access to water can determine the future of a ranching operation and how fair resolutions are essential for both landowners and tribal communities.

Noah joined BKBH in 2025 with a genuine passion for continual learning and a commitment to making the legal process approachable. Known for being personable and easy to talk to, he ensures clients feel comfortable asking questions and never feel overwhelmed by legalese or complex procedures. His goal is simple: to offer the clearest path forward by explaining each step in a way that feels manageable and grounded in common sense.

Insurance Defense

Noah represents companies and their insurers in a variety of civil defense matters. He evaluates claims, develops strategic responses, and works closely with insurance carriers to ensure cases move efficiently toward resolution. Noah’s clear and practical communication style helps corporate clients understand their exposure, assess risk, and make informed decisions at every stage of the litigation process.

Private Party Litigation

Noah assists individuals and businesses involved in disputes ranging from contract issues to property matters. His background in rural land issues and resource access gives him a unique perspective when handling cases related to land use, access disputes, and other matters affecting property owners. He is dedicated to helping clients work through conflict with clarity and confidence.

Estate and Trusts

Noah assists clients with a wide range of estate planning and trust matters, offering guidance from the earliest stages of planning through the administration and resolution of complex issues. He works with individuals and families to develop estate plans that reflect their goals, protect assets, and provide clarity for future generations. His work includes the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other foundational planning documents.

In addition to planning, Noah advises clients who are navigating the administration of an estate or trust. He helps personal representatives and trustees understand their duties, interpret governing documents, and address questions that arise during the management and distribution of assets. When disputes occur among beneficiaries or between fiduciaries and heirs, he works to help clients evaluate their options and pursue practical solutions that protect both relationships and long-term interests.

Noah grew up in a ranching family in southwest Wyoming, where he learned the value of hard work, resource stewardship, and community problem-solving. He earned his bachelor’s degree in European Studies from the University of Texas at Austin before attending the University of Montana School of Law, where he obtained his J.D. and completed a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law. During law school, he served as President of the Student Bar Association.

Outside of work, Noah spends his time fishing, which has been one of his favorite pursuits since he taught himself to fly fish on Lady Bird Lake while living in Austin. What began as a college hobby has continued throughout his life, giving him time to unwind, enjoy the outdoors, and take on a challenge that never stops teaching him something new. His colleagues note that he brings the same steady, patient approach to his work, helping clients feel comfortable and informed throughout the legal process.
