J. Daniel Hoven is a native Montanan and comes from a family of lawyers. His father and two uncles were lawyers and had long standing practices in Montana. He is one of the original members of BKBH. He obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Montana and his law degree from Lincoln Law School in San Francisco. He is a member of the Montana and California (inactive) bars, The Montana Defense Trial Lawyers, The Litigation Counsel of America, and National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel. He is a partner and works in the firm’s Helena office.
Mr. Hoven has two children who are also attorneys. One practices in Boston while the other resides in Milwaukee and works at a medical device company. Mr. Hoven is a long-time sports enthusiast who has served in the past as member of the Helena Babe Ruth Baseball Board of Directors and as General Manager of the Helena American Legion Baseball program. He is also a past Certified Contract Advisor for NFL football players and past member of the Sports Lawyers Association. He presently enjoys golfing and staying fit.
