Mr. Kaleczyc has extensive experience in a wide variety of business, legislative, and regulatory matters, representing client interests before the United States Congress, the Montana Legislature, and before state and federal courts including the United States Supreme Court, and federal and state administrative agencies.
Mr. Kaleczyc’s principal areas of practice include commercial litigation, business law, insurance defense, insurance and securities regulatory matters, and administrative proceedings. He has also served as counsel to clients in disputes involving federal and state tax matters, including property tax disputes for industrial clients and disputes over the allocation and apportionment of income of corporate income taxpayers.
Prior to becoming of counsel to the firm, he was general legal counsel to the Montana Municipal Interlocal Authority, the interlocal government pool for liability, workers’ compensation, property and health coverages for Montana cities and towns. He was also general legal counsel to the Montana Schools Group Insurance Authority, the workers’ compensation, property and liability self-insurance program for Montana school districts.
From 1993 to 2000 State Auditor and Insurance Commissioner Mark O’Keefe appointed Mr. Kaleczyc as Special Deputy Liquidator for Glacier General Assurance Company in Liquidation.
Mr. Kaleczyc is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the George Washington School of Law. He is a founding shareholder in Browning, Kaleczyc, Berry & Hoven, P.C. Prior to establishing his law practice in Montana, he was Associate General Counsel of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States. He has been listed in Super Lawyers of the Mountain States since 2008 and has been recognized by Chambers since 2007 in the area of commercial litigation.
