Mr. Goe joined BKBH in 1986 and is the managing partner. Mr. Goe enjoys a broad based insurance defense and employment law practice. He has successfully represented individuals, professionals, businesses, public entities, employers and insurers throughout the State of Montana, in state and federal district courts, as well as before the Montana Supreme Court. Mr. Goe’s litigation practice includes the defense of negligence claims, medical negligence claims, wrongful death, products liability, wrongful discharge, discrimination, inverse condemnation, civil rights, construction defects and environmental claims and torts. Mr. Goe has been a frequent lecturer to government and private employers on employment law issues. He has also been a speaker for a variety of continuing legal education seminars addressing Montana employment and labor law issues. Mr. Goe is rated AV by his peers, according to Martindale Hubbell and has been honored in Super Lawyers since 2009.
Mr. Goe was born and raised in Bakersfield, California and earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of California Berkeley in 1977. He earned his Juris Doctrine three years later from the Santa Clara University School of Law. After passing the California Bar Exam, Mr. Goe began his legal career as a public defender for the County of Santa Clara where he gained extensive trial experience and skills. Mr. Goe and his family moved to Montana in 1986 to enjoy the great quality of life offered only in Montana and shortly thereafter joined Browning, Kaleczyc, Berry & Hoven. His wife Christina Goe is a graduate of Stanford and the Santa Clara University School of Law. She is General Counsel for the Montana State Auditor. They have three daughters, Rebecca, Carrie and Emily and one grandson, Anders. Mr. Goe sits on the board of the Lewis and Clark Humane Society as well as the Last Chance Tennis Association.
