Ms. Walker leads BKBH’s Trusts and Estates Group. Her practice is focused on helping clients achieve their goals by planning and implementing workable estate and business plans. She regularly assists clients in planning for death and disability by creating wills, trusts, financial powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney and living wills. She also has extensive experience in representing guardians and conservators as well as Personal Representatives and trustees in the complete administration of their loved one’s estates. This includes representation in contested matters and litigation involving estates.
Laura works closely with business owners on business strategies and preparation of all necessary documents regarding choosing a form of business entity, corporate and business governance, employee manuals and trademark protection. She also provides assistance to individuals and businesses on a broad range of transactional matters. This includes drafting and negotiating contracts, purchase and sale agreements, real estate sales documents, shareholder and operating agreements, easements and leases.
Laura E. Walker grew up in Livingston, MT. After obtaining her B.A. with honors in 2003 from MSU-Bozeman, and her J.D. from the University of Montana in 2006, she decided to make Great Falls home. Since then, she has worked in private practice with an emphasis on Estate Planning, Estate and Trust Administration, Guardianships and Conservatorships and Business and Tax Planning. She joined BKBH in 2012 and works in the firm’s Great Falls office.
Ms. Walker enjoys spending time with her husband, son, daughter and dog. If not at a youth sporting event, she enjoys fishing, skiing or just relaxing on the river. She volunteers with the Eagle Mount Adaptive Ski Program and is also a member of the Junior League of Great Falls, where she served as its president from 2015-2016.
