Mr. Haque-Hausrath maintains a lively pro bono practice:
  • Won asylum for seven refugees in Merits Hearings before the Chicago Immigration Court and affirmative asylum applications before the Chicago Asylum Office. Represented detained and non-detained refugees from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, and Togo. Each of these refugees fled from their home countries to escape torture, abuse, and death on account of their political beliefs.
  • Currently representing his eighth asylum client in removal proceedings before the Chicago Immigration Court.
  • Prepared immigration paperwork for clients, including applications for Legal Permanent Resident status and visa petitions for family members; recently reunited a Togolese refugee with her three children.
