Operations Coordinator: New Earth Systems, Inc. Involved with all aspects of developing a start-up water treatment technology firm. Specific tasks include strategic planning, subcontractor management, logistical coordination, personnel recruitment, and marketing. November 1, 2002 – May 1, 2005 (worked on a project basis after August 15, 2003).
- Rewrote the substantive portion of the business plan. Utilized in raising $1.5 million.
- Recommended product development company utilized to develop the company’s prototype treatment system.
- Identified a manufacturing process and company that dropped the production cost of a key expendable component from $8,000 to $100.
- Managed R&D team that identified a major technical problem with company’s treatment technology and developed a working solution.
Project Manager: Smith River Environmental, Inc. Marketed and managed environmental engineering projects. Managed a pilot test of a heavy metals removal system for the Corps of Engineers. Created and managed web site. 2002.
Mental Health Technician: Shodair Children’s Psychiatric Hospital. Provided direct care to children concerning safety, hygiene, meal supervision, and interaction with other children. Utilized patient diagnosis and multidisciplinary treatment plan to guide and care for each child in an individualized manner. March 18, 2002 until November 1, 2002.
MILITARY EXPERIENCE U.S. Army – First Lieutenant – Infantry (May 1999 – November 2001) Named distinguished member of 35th Infantry Regiment. First time award given for peacetime service.
Battalion Air Manager: Planned, executed, and integrated air operations for a 600-man light infantry battalion task force, routinely supported by artillery, engineer, air defense, and intelligence units. Coordinated within the organization and with outside agencies to acquire and manage resources in support of contingency operations. Planned and supervised the preparations for an intensive equipment maintenance and deployment readiness inspection involving 12 units, 710 personnel, and 827 different weapon systems.
Battalion Ammunition Manager: Forecasted and managed the battalion’s annual ammunition account. The annual account included 1,713,075 pieces of ammunition in sixty-seven categories. Developed extensive MS Excel program that automated the forecasting and management of the Battalion’s ammunition account. Program has capability to interact between different levels of the organization to manage the entire Division’s assets.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE Uganda Rural Fund USA, Inc. Volunteered with the organization since December of 2005. Became a member of the Board of Directors in April of 2006. Helped the organization film a documentary depicting the HIV/AIDS crisis in rural Uganda and highlighting the organization’s efforts to rebuild the devastated rural communities.
Darcee Zeiler Memorial Fund: Established the annual Darcee Zeiler Memorial Benefit to fund fight against eating disorders in Helena, Montana. Fund’s existence led to the creation of the Helena Area Eating Disorder Task Force with the Darcee Zeiler Memorial Fund as its funding mechanism.
Waimea Valley Conservation Effort: Assisted government panels and various local non-profit groups to develop a plan to preserve the culture and environment of the Waimea Valley on Oahu’s North Shore. Developed an interactive website to influence Honolulu’s mayor’s decision to purchase the valley and turn it over to a non-profit agency. Website received over 40,000 visitors in one month, deluging the mayor’s office with support for the plan.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE Writing: Completed two fiction novels. Whirling Montana© (2002) and Sleeping Giant © (2006)
Adventure Sports: Developed an inflatable adventure board, the only inflatable to complete the Primal Quest 2006 adventure race. Teamed up with other adventure sports enthusiasts to bring the board and other adventure sports products to market. Envisioned the company’s Mean Monkey™ brand name and logo.
