Ms. Grinde earned her Bachelors degree in Economics and Communications (2003) from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Montana School of Law in Missoula (2008).  She is a member of the Montana Bar and is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in Montana.  She is the current representative of the Montana and Idaho lawyers in the American Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division for the ABA's 30th District.  Ms. Grinde’s principal areas of practice include general litigation, FELA, health care law, and employment law.

Erica Grinde joined BKBH in August 2008 following graduation from the University of Montana School of Law. She was admitted to practice before the state and federal courts in Montana in October 2008. She is a third generation Montanan growing up in Polson, Montana.

Ms. Grinde built a solid foundation in legal writing and trial advocacy skills during her tenure at the University of Montana School of Law. She served as Executive Editor of the Montana Law Review during the 2007-2008 academic year and as a staff member during the 2006-2007 academic year. As a member of the 2008 University of Montana National Moot Court team, Ms. Grinde argued before State and Federal Judges from around the country as well as drafted an appellate brief judged by judges, professors, and legal scholars from around the country.

During the spring of 2008, Ms. Grinde served as clinical clerk for U.S. District Judge Donald W. Molloy. Throughout law school, Ms. Grinde interned with an insurance defense law firm which was her first introduction to litigation. Since joining BKBH in 2008, Ms. Grinde has successfully applied the skills attained during her law school career to positively serve BKBH clients. She has written motions and briefs with successful results for a variety of BKBH clients. She drafted motions and briefs in Healy v. Northwest Emergency Physicians, et. al. and achieved successful results on the majority of these submissions.
